Henry Cavill talks Man Of Steel
Feb 16th 2013, 10:00

In issue 204 of Total Film magazine (out now, and available for only £1.99 on your iPad), we chat to Henry Cavill about donning the cape to play the world's biggest superhero for Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel.

You can read the full interview in the new issue, but we've got some choice quotes to whet your appetite.

On Superman's iconic red and blue get-up, Cavill grinned as he told us, "I loved wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you're wearing a Superman suit, for goodness sake!"

When we asked about the process of finding a way to play the iconic superhero, he responded thoughtfully:

"This is not a movie about Zack Snyder directing something, or Henry Cavill playing a character… it's a selfless movie about a character who is going through what he is going through. He wants to do the right thing, but he's fallible, like the rest of us. He messes up, and that makes us love him more."

Man Of Steel opens in the UK on 14 June 2013.

For much more from Henry Cavill, pick up the brand-new issue 204 of Total Film magazine, which is on sale now.

And, Total Film magazine issue 204 comes with four incredible free posters: including Pacific Rim, Man Of Steel, Oblivion and The World's End.

Harrison Ford confirmed to return as Han Solo in Star Wars Episode VII?
Feb 15th 2013, 16:00

Harrison Ford has signed on to return to the Star Wars universe in Star Wars Episode VII, Latino Review - via Fox News - has confirmed.

Famed Latino Review scooper El Mayimbe appeared on Fox News to announce the story, saying it's a "done deal".

Ford famously tried to distance himself from the series when Empire Strikes Back was in production, requesting that Lucas kill off his character.

Thankfully, Ford seems to have changed his mind - unless JJ promised him the ultimate death scene to convince him to reprise his role as Chewbacca's best mate.

Abrams and Ford have collaborated on previous projects - Abrams wrote Regarding Henry, and produced Morning Glory - but this will be the first time JJ will get to direct his childhood hero.

Latino Review has a strong record when it comes to scoops, so expect this story to develop, with Abrams, Ford and Disney making official statements. If, indeed, the story is true.

We certainly hope it is - cameos from the original trilogy's stars will be an essential part of Abrams' mission to bridge the gap between the original trilogy and this new series.

And who doesn't want to see a grumpy old Solo arguing with a grey-haired Wookiee?

Robin Wright and Naomi Watts get their cougar on in first trailer for Two Mothers: watch now
Feb 15th 2013, 12:57

The first trailer for Anne Fontaine's Two Mothers has emerged online, in which Robin Wright and Naomi Watts start up ill-advised relationships with each other's sons.

Watts and Wright play lifelong friends living in Australia with their twentysomething sons. Things all get a little close for comfort when mothers and sons start crossing boundaries, and before long, there are two star-crossed love affairs on the go.

James Frecheville and Xavier Samuel play the two boys in question, and understandably, their friendship soon starts to show the strain. they're sleeping with each other's mums, after all…

Take a look, below…

It certainly seems like a curious set-up, although given the quality of the actors involved, we're intrigued to see how this unconventional drama works itself out.

Adpated from the Doris Lessing novel The Grandmothers, and co-starring Ben Mendelsohn, Two Mothers will open int he UK later this year, with a release date to be confirmed.

New trailer for The Host: watch now
Feb 15th 2013, 09:30

A new trailer has emerged online for The Host, Andrew Niccol's adaptation of another Stephenie Meyer young-adult novel.

The film is set in a dystopian future in which a race of parasitic aliens have stealthily managed to take possession of the majority of the human race.

However, some hosts are less receptive to said parasites than others, and Saoirse Ronan's teenage heroine is one such fighter.

Take a look at the new trailer, below:

The new trailer does a decent job of explaining the film's sci-fi set-up while also introducing the obligatory love triangle between Ronan's character and rival hunks Max Irons and Jake Abel.

Co-starring Diane Kruger and William Hurt, The Host will open in the UK on 29 March 2013.

Exclusive Spring Breakers Poster
Feb 14th 2013, 12:23

There are numerous reasons we're rather excited about Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers.

Not only does it look like being one of the crazier, more leftfield movies you'll see this year, but seeing a bunch of former Disney starlets unleashed is going to be intriguing.

So we're excited to reveal an exclusive look at a new teaser poster, which hints at the raunchy, raucous mayhem to come.

The story follows Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, Heather Morris' collegiates as they embrace the crazier side of the great American tradition of Spring Break. Only things go from fun to bonkers pretty quickly when they get wrapped up with James Franco's arms and drugs dealer.

Click on the image below to see the full size version.

Watch the trailer below.

Directed by Harmony Korine, the Spring Breakers opens in the UK on 5 April 2013.

Peter Dinklage will play the villain in X-Men
Feb 15th 2013, 08:36

It was only yesterday that we discovered that Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has joined the cast for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and today, it emerges that he'll be playing the villain of the piece.

According to Variety, Dinklage will play the film's "main antagonist", quashing rumours that he would be playing Alpha Flight member, Puck.

No further details have been confirmed as yet, but with the robotic Sentinels seeming likely to appear, could it be that Dinklage is playing their inventor, Boliver Trask?

What we do know is that the film will take place across two timelines, as the X-Men seek to avert a nightmarish future in which mutants are rounded up and shunted into a series of concentration camps.

Directed by Bryan Singer and co-starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens in the UK on 18 July 2014.
